Music Soothes the Savage Beast in Me

Did you see that Harry Potter movie wherein Harry and his friends needed to get past a three-headed beast of a dog, and they managed make it sleep with a musical instrument?

They say music soothes the savage beast. Well, the saying goes well with me too. Though, I am not a beast, I do act pretty savage when I am so stressed, extremely hungry or when I had only a few hours of sleep. And when I start to act like this, I go to a corner, turn on my Ipod, put on my headphones and zone out. When I’m bummed out, I tend to listen to a few classical tunes first. I always relax while listening to Chopin or Bach. After a few rounds of that, I move on to a more modern playlist and bang my head to the rhythm. When I’m feeling a bit better, I sing along to a few favourite oldies and even dance to the more upbeat ones.

Music is a part of me. I can’t function without it. I would die of stress and boredom if not for music. As for my musical taste, it ranges from classic, love songs, rock, acoustic, pop, hip hop, trance and house. Whatever the mood I’m in, there’s surely a song for that.
